Seattle ends RSL's 29-game home unbeaten run
May 29, 2011 - 3:11 AM Sandy, UT (Sports Network) - The 29-game home unbeaten streak of Real Salt Lake in MLS play came to an end on Saturday at Rio Tinto Stadium as Seattle Sounders FC came away with a 2-1 win over RSL.Salt Lake defender Jamison Olave received a straight red card in the 58th minute with the match still scoreless after he pulled down Seattle's Michael Fucito.
The Sounders (5-4-5) then took advantage in the 72nd when a corner kick from Fredy Montero was finished off at close range by Patrick Ianni.
Seattle doubled its lead in the 84th minute when Lamar Neagle sent a rocket into the upper-right corner of the net from outside the penalty area that gave RSL goalkeeper Nick Rimando no chance.
RSL (5-2-2) pulled a goal back three minutes from time through Nelson Gonzalez, who was set up by substitute Luis Gil, but the hosts were unable to muster another goal with 10 men, handing Seattle its second win in the last six games.
