Sounders head to Toronto in search of full points

Jun 17, 2011 - 10:05 PM Toronto, ON (Sports Network) - Toronto FC returns home after a two-game road trip to host Seattle Sounders FC in Major League Soccer action on Saturday.

TFC (2-5-9) is coming off a mid-week clash with New England in which the Reds earned a scoreless draw on the road, the team's fifth draw in the last six games.

"Overall, [we earned] a point away but it's otherwise good," TFC coach Aron Winter said. "We wanted more ... but also we had a lot of chances and we're better for it. A couple times they had some good opportunities but still one point is good."

Toronto has also gone seven games without a win.

"The result is good but I'm waiting for a victory because every time to play a tie, it's good but it's not changing anything in the standings," Winter added.

Seattle (5-4-7) has also earned two straight draws and hopes to get in the win column for the first time since a May 28 victory at Real Salt Lake.

Saturday's match will be Seattle's the second straight vs. a Canadian club after battling to a 2-2 draw with Vancouver this past Saturday.

"We battled and we fought, they didn't quit," Sounders defender James Riley told his club's site about being forced to share the points with an expansion team at home. "We're sitting in our locker room like it's a loss instead of a derby victory. ... So, we'll learn from it."

Seattle went down 1-0 in the first half, and scored goals in the 81st and 84th minutes to tie and pull ahead. But Vancouver got the equalizer just a minute later.

"Let's not forget that 80 minutes into the game we're down 1-0 and we come back and have a chance to win it," Seattle goalkeeper Kasey Keller said. "That's just frustrating that you do battle like hell to get back into the lead and then you concede so quickly after."
