Beasley on way to Scottish giants

Jun 27, 2007 - 2:48 PM GLASGOW, Scotland (Ticker) -- Scottish powerhouse Rangers are set to complete the signing of United States winger DaMarcus Beasley from PSV Eindhoven.

Beasley was in Glasgow on Wednesday to put the finishing touches to his expected move.

The transfer has been held up while the United States took part in the Gold Cup, which it won with victory over Mexico in Sunday's final.

The 25-year-old Beasley had an injury-interrupted loan spell at English Premiership Manchester City last season.

PSV did not expect Beasley to feature prominently in its team next season.

The former Chicago Fire player cost PSV $3 million in 2004, but the move to Rangers is expected to be at a lower fee.

Beasley played for the United States at the 2002 and 2006 World Cups.
