Rapids, 'Quakes draw in dramatic fashion
Sep 28, 2014 - 3:07 AM Commerce City, CO (SportsNetwork.com) - The Colorado Rapids and San Jose Earthquakes exchanged late goals at Dick's Sporting Goods Park on Saturday to share the spoils in a dramatic 1-1 draw.Gabriel Torres thought he had won it for Colorado when he struck in the 84th minute by getting on the end of a low cross from Chris Klute and tucking home a neat finish for his third of the season.
But Atiba Harris answered for the 'Quakes in the fourth minute of second-half stoppage time off of a helper from Matias Perez Garcia.
The result sees Colorado climb to 32 points on the season, bringing the club to within eight points of the final playoff berth out of the Western Conference.
San Jose, meanwhile, improves to 29 points for the season but sees its winless run in league play extended to 10 games.
