Orlando City set to host Revs at Citrus Bowl

May 7, 2015 - 8:08 PM Orlando, FL (SportsNetwork.com) - A pair of sides heading in opposite directions will clash on Friday as the New England Revolution travel to the Citrus Bowl to face Orlando City SC.

The Revolution come into the match looking to continue their fine run of form and extend their unbeaten streak to eight matches following a 2-1 victory over the previously unbeaten New York Red Bulls at Gillette Stadium.

The home side wasted little time finding the back of the net as defender London Woodberry sent an inch-perfect cross into the penalty area where Charlie Davies nodded it home after just nine minutes of play.

It was 2-0 to the Revs on the hour mark when Teal Bunbury finished an excellent six-pass offensive move by sliding it in behind New York goalkeeper Luis Robles for his second goal of the season.

New York pulled one back in the 73rd minute through Sacha Kljestan, but could not find a late equalizer as the Revolution held on through five minutes of stoppage time to deal the Red Bulls their first defeat of 2015.

"I thought it was hard-fought both ways. But credit New York, I thought we came out and started that game on the right foot and really did a nice job for the first 15 or 20 minutes. Then towards the end of the first half, they took control of it and did a nice job," said Revolution head coach Jay Heaps. "I thought we re-approached the game in the second half the right way and had a couple of chances to put it away, but you credit that New York team because they never gave up and they fought all the way to the end."

Orlando, meanwhile, is still looking for its first win in front of the home fans, coming off a 2-0 loss to Toronto FC on April 26.

U.S. international Jozy Altidore netted both goals for TFC, the first of which came in the 50th minute when he danced around the defense and placed the ball in the corner of the net, past OCSC goalkeeper Donovan Ricketts.

Altidore struck again late on to hand all three points to the visitors.

"It was obviously a difficult ending for us, but I don't think we played well enough tonight," said head coach Adrian Heath. "In terms of moving the ball, this was probably the worst game we've had all season. They (Toronto) did what we thought they'd do and played their most experienced team. It made things difficult and blocked off the middle of the pitch. We fell into the trap of continuously trying to force it through the middle, and overall, I don't think we were good enough to win the game."

Despite having last week off from league play, the Lions still suffered a major injury as forward Kevin Molino will miss the rest of the season after tearing his right ACL in a friendly against Brazilian side Ponte Preta.

"We are obviously devastated for Kevin," said Heath. "He was having a great start to the season, his first in MLS. He'll work with the team physicians from Orlando Health to make sure he undergoes a full recovery and comes back in top form."
