PSV Eindhoven went back to the top of the Dutch Eredivisie on Saturday with a 1-0 victory at De Graafschap.

Jefferson Farfan scored the only goal on the stroke of the interval and the champions defended that lead, despite the sending-off of Danko Lazovic.

Willem II climbed off the bottom of the table with a 6-0 annihilation of fellow strugglers Excelsior.

Rydell Poepon began the scoring after nine minutes and Frank Demouge added a second before halftime.

Said Boutahar added a third in the second half before the visitors' misery was compounded when Daniel Guijo-Velasco was sent off.

Frank van der Struijk added a fourth 12 minutes from time before Demouge and Poepen each doubled their personal tallies.

In-form Marcus Berg struck early in the second half to give FC Groningen a 1-0 win over struggling VVV Venlo.

Roda JC survived a late scare to beat Vitesse Arnhem 3-2 at the Parkstad Limburg Stadion.

Young striker Roland Lamah was the star of the show, bagging a brace in quick succession to set Roda on the way to the win and into fourth place in the league.

Jan Paul Saeijs made it 3-0 before Sebastien Sansoni and substitute Harrie Gommans struck for Vitesse.

On Friday, FC Utrecht climbed to fourth in the Eredivisie standings on Friday night after hammering lowly Sparta Rotterdam, 7-1.

Loic Loval struck a hat-trick and Robin Nelisse a brace, with Leroy George and Francis Dickoh also on target for the hosts.

Yuri Rose pulled one back for the visitors 13 minutes from time, but it provided little consolation.

Ajax will reclaim top spot if they beat NAC Breda on Sunday while AZ Alkmaar visit FC Twente. Feyenoord host Heracles Almelo while Heerenveen make the trip to NEC Nijmegen.
