Valencia determined to make Everton impact
Nov 30, 2016 - 4:27 PM On-loan striker Enner Valencia hopes the busy festive programme will give him a chance to kick-start his Everton career. The Ecuador soccer international has been restricted to just 48 minutes over five Premier League appearances since joining from West Ham on deadline day.
In his only start, he played 90 minutes in the EFL Cup defeat at home to Championship league side Norwich.
Despite the team scoring only six goals in their past eight Premier League matches, Valencia appears to be nowhere near the starting line up.
However, he hopes that will change in the next month when matches come thick and fast.
"Hopefully I can play more games in this busy time over Christmas," he told evertonfc.com.
"I really want to be a part of the team and hopefully there will be a lot of rotation with players coming in and out.
"It is always the same when you go to a new club: you have to learn how they want you to operate. It has been different to what I have done previously.
"But when you start to understand what the manager wants from you then it becomes easier and that is how it is going at the moment."
