Austin, Carrusca in for Melbourne Victory
Jan 5, 2017 - 4:01 AM Mitch Austin could turn out for his first A-League appearance in more than a month when Melbourne Victory face Adelaide United. The former Central Coast winger hurt his ankle in Victory's 2-0 defeat of Newcastle Jets in late November.
He's been named in an extended Victory squad to travel to South Australia for the Saturday night match, which pits second against last on the A-League ladder.
Austin is likely to return from the bench if coach Kevin Muscat continue to reward a winning side.
Victory are on a four-match winning streak, with Muscat naming an unchanged side for the past three.
For Adelaide, Marcelo Carrusca, who has endured an injury-plagued start to the Reds' troubled campaign, returns a one-week layoff.
