Terry Antonis no guarantee to face City
Jan 5, 2017 - 3:17 AM New loan recruit Terry Antonis has been named in Western Sydney's squad to face Melbourne City but is no guarantee of travelling.Though Antonis will be eligible to make his Wanderers debut at AAMI Park on Friday night, there's still question marks over his match fitness.
The former Sydney FC and fringe Socceroos player played just two minutes in October while on loan at Veria from fellow Greek Super League outfit PAOK.
And despite seeing "good signs", coach Tony Popovic gave no indication the 23-year-old would be rushed back into the matchday squad despite the absence of suspended skipper Dimas.
"We'll decide after training," Popovic said.
"We're pleased with him, he's in better shape than I anticipated.
"He hasn't played a lot of football and he hasn't done a lot of training before he arrived here for obvious reasons.
"It's about him getting accustomed back here."
New goalkeeper Vedran Janjetovic has also been named in the squad, with Jerrad Tyson standing between him a starting berth.
Popovic said the former Sky Blues gloveman was fit enough to travel.
