Tiatto to join Roar coaching staff
Jun 26, 2017 - 9:19 AM Former Socceroo Danny Tiatto is returning to Brisbane Roar to join the A-League club's coaching staff for next season.Tiatto has been appointed the Roar's new team manager, replacing Scott Higgins, who has left the club.
Tiatto signed for Brisbane in the A-League's third season but was one of many senior players who quit shortly after the arrival of Ange Postecoglou as coach in 2009.
The 23-cap Socceroos defender is best known for his career in England's top two divisions with Manchester City, Leicester City and Stoke City.
"He's old school. He came up the hard way and he'll be able to bring that extra experience to our dressing room," Roar managing director Mark Kingsman told AAP.
Now 44, Tiatto has been based on the Gold Coast in recent years.
Tiatto joins head coach John Aloisi, assistant Ross Aloisi and football director Craig Moore on the Roar's coaching panel.
Brisbane are set to begin full pre-season training next Thursday.
