Bernie Ibini scores his first MLS goal

Jul 30, 2017 - 6:39 AM Australian Bernie Ibini has scored his first goal for Vancouver Whitecaps in a comprehensive 4-0 win over hosts FC Dallas in the MLS.

The 24-year-old former Sydney FC and Central Coast forward opened the scoring in the 18th minute,

Ibini cut inside from the right and fired a low left-foot strike from 25 yards, wickedly deceiving Dallas goalkeeper Jesse Gonzalez.

Fredy Montero doubled the advantage early in the second half, converting from the spot after a penalty in the area by Kellyn Acosta.

Ibini, in his sixth game for Vancouver, was replaced on 63 minutes and four minutes later Montero added a third goal before Nicolas Mezquida rounded off the scoring in the 83rd minute.

Elsewhere, Daniel Royer scored twice to help New York Red Bulls trounce Montreal Impact 4-0.

Daniel Salloi had a goal and an assist and Sporting Kansas City survived a late scare to beat Chicago Fire 3-2.

Hector "Tito" Villalba scored in stoppage time to give expansion side Atlanta United a 1-1 draw with Orlando City, after Kaka opened the scoring for the visitors in the 40th minute.

Christian Ramirez scored his 11th goal of the season as Minnesota thrashed D.C. United 4-0 for their first win in six games.

Kei Kamara scored twice and Juan Agudelo added a late goal in New England Revolution's 3-0 victory over Philadelphia Union.

Nick Lima's 59th minute goal helped San Jose Earthquakes beat Colorado Rapids 1-0.

Ola Kamara scored two goals in Columbus Crew's 2-2 draw with Real Salt Lake and Los Angeles Galaxy had a goalless draw at home with Seattle Sounders.
