Roddick to battle Murray at SAP Open

Feb 17, 2007 - 7:51 PM SAN JOSE, California (Ticker) -- A year later, Andy Roddick will will be looking for a different result against Andy Murray.

The top-seeded Roddick faces the third-seeded Murray on Saturday in the semifinals of the $416,000 SAP Open.

Seeking his third crown here after winning in 2004 and 2005, Roddick lost to Murray in the semis here last year. The Brit eventually won his first career ATP Tour title.

Roddick, who had not dropped a set in his first two matches, needed three sets Friday before emerging with a 6-3, 6-7 (5-7), 6-1 triumph over fellow American and No. 8 seed Vincent Spadea.

The 19-year-old Murray also had to rally Friday but came away with a 4-6, 6-3, 7-6 (7-4) victory over No. 7 Hyung-Taik Lee of Korea.

In Saturday's other semifinal, sixth-seeded German Benjamin Becker takes on unseeded Ivo Karlovic of Croatia.
