Djokovic in action at Studena Croatia Open

Jul 25, 2007 - 7:18 PM UMAG, Croatia (Ticker) -- Top-seeded Novak Djokovic of Serbia faces countryman Victor Troicki in the second round Wednesday at the $488,000 Studena Croatia Open.

The world's third ranked player, Djokovic had very little trouble recording a 6-1, 6-3 victory over qualifier Pablo Andujar of Spain in the first round on Monday.

It was the first match for the 20-year-old Djokovic since retiring against Rafael Nadal in the semifinals at Wimbledon with a left foot injury on July 7.

Fifth-seeded Guillermo Canas of Argentina advanced to the third round by defeating Spain's Ruben Ramirez Hidalgo, 6-4, 6-3. Canas recorded eight aces and benefited from eight double faults by his opponent to advance.

Canas rolled to a 6-3, 6-3 victory over Roko Karanusic in the first round.

The other two second-round matches on tap Wednesday involve unseeded players.

Marin Cilic of Croatia faces Gilles Simon of France while Victor Hanescu of Romania meets Carlos Berlocq of Argentina.

First prize at this claycourt tournament is $77,000.
