Storm hang on to defeat Mystics
Jul 12, 2011 - 9:23 PM Seattle, WA (Sports Network) - Sue Bird scored a game-high 22 points as the Seattle Storm held off a late surge by the Washington Mystics to take a 79-71 victory.Swin Cash added 20 points and six rebounds, and Camille Little contributed with 12 points as the Storm improved to 5-1 at home this season.
Marissa Coleman led the Mystics with 16 points and nine rebounds. Matee Ajavon poured in 13 and added seven assists in Washington's fourth straight loss.
The Mystics trailed by as much as 12, but made it a two-point game with 9:37 left in the fourth quarter. Seattle, though, toughened up and outscored Washington 18-12 for the remainder of the game.
