Mystics down Sparks in OT

Jul 18, 2011 - 3:28 AM Los Angeles, CA (Sports Network) - Matee Ajavon poured in 29 points and Crystal Langhorne added 24 points and 14 rebounds as the Washington Mystics earned a shocking 89-85 comeback victory over the Los Angeles Sparks.

Marissa Coleman contributed 10 points and nine boards for the Mystics, who snapped a five-game losing streak.

Kristi Toliver paced the Sparks with 21 points and seven assists, while Jantel Lavender came off the bench to net 13 points.

Los Angeles, which led by as many as 24 points, maintained firm control for the majority of the contest and sported a 59-45 advantage entering the fourth quarter.

Langhorne would not be denied, however, pouring in 11 points on 4-of-5 shooting over the final 10 minutes of regulation to force overtime.

In the extra frame Ajavon netted eight points, which included a 4-of-4 performance from the charity stripe, to put away the stunned Sparks.

The Mystics shot a whopping 66.7 percent during the decisive fourth quarter, while the Sparks hit just 36.4 percent of their shots over that span.
