Mystics down Dream, halt nine-game skid

Sep 2, 2011 - 1:21 AM Washington, DC (Sports Network) - Matee Ajavon scored 19 points, including a key three-pointer late in regulation as Washington downed Atlanta, 85-81, halting a nine-game losing skid.

Crystal Langhorne posted 25 points and 10 rebounds for the Mystics, who hadn't won since August 12 against New York. Jasmine Thomas contributed 12 and five assists for the victors.

Angel McCoughtry's game-high 30 points weren't enough for the Dream. Alison Bales turned in 11 points and six boards, while Sancho Lyttle and Lindsey Harding posted 10 in a losing cause.

McCoughtry hit two from the line to bring the Dream within 81-79, but Ajavon was good from long distance with 1:20 left in regulation, a basket which put Washington ahead by five.

DeMya Walker added 1-of-2 from the charity stripe and Atlanta's only answer in the final seconds was a Harding jumper.
