Lynx take down Shock
Jun 24, 2013 - 1:26 AM Minneapolis, MN (Sports Network) - Maya Moore and Seimone Augustus each poured in 22 points, and the Minnesota Lynx eased past the Tulsa Shock, 88-79, on Sunday.Minnesota shot 53 percent from the field and received 19 points and nine assists from Lindsay Whalen. Rebekkah Brunson added an 11-point, 11-rebound effort to help the team rebound from a blowout loss to Los Angeles on Friday.
The Shock saw their brief two-game winning streak come to an end while shooting 39 percent over the first three quarters of Sunday's contest. Glory Johnson scored 24 points in the defeat.
The teams were tied at 38-38 with 2 1/2 minutes left in the half, but the Lynx scored 11 of the last 13 points before the break to grab a 49-40 edge.
Moore's 3-pointer in the closing seconds of the third opened up a 14-point edge for Minnesota and the margin never got closer than nine the rest of the way.
