Sky spoil Liberty's return to Madison Square Garden
May 18, 2014 - 2:44 AM New York, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - Elena Delle Donne scored 23 points and the Chicago Sky spoiled the New York Liberty's return to Madison Square Garden with a 79-65 victory Saturday night.The Liberty had played their home games the past three seasons at the Prudential Center in Newark while the Garden underwent a $1 billion renovation.
Jessica Breland tallied 13 points and 11 rebounds for the Sky, who opened the season with a 74-71 win against Indiana on Friday. Allie Quigley and Courtney Vandersloot each had 12 points.
Liberty center Tina Charles had 15 points and 12 rebounds in her home debut. Charles was acquired in a blockbuster draft night trade with the Connecticut Sun.
New York claimed a 75-54 win at Connecticut on Friday.
