Lynx hand Sky first loss of season; stay perfect

May 26, 2014 - 10:40 PM Rosemont, IL (SportsNetwork.com) - Lindsay Whalen scored 22 points and Seimone Augustus added 17 to help lead the Minnesota Lynx to a 75-72 win over the Chicago Sky.

Maya Moore chipped in with 14 points to keep the defending WNBA champions perfect during their first five games.

Elena Delle Donne and Jessica Breland each tallied 16 points, while Breland also added 15 rebounds for Chicago, which suffered its first loss of the season.

Trailing 75-72 in the closing seconds, Delle Donne heaved up a desperation 3- pointer that bounced off the backboard and front of the iron before falling off. Augustus grabbed the rebound to secure the win.

Minnesota took a 42-39 advantage into the break. Whalen's fadeaway jumper with 21.9 seconds left in the third made it 61-56 going into the fourth.

Delle Donne tied the game at 63-63 with a 3-pointer about midway through the fourth and her layup put the Sky up two with 5:03 left to play. The Lynx scored the next six points to take a 69-65 lead and didn't look back from there.
