Jun 1, 2014 - 1:28 AM Indianapolis, IN (SportsNetwork.com) - Briann January had 20 points and seven assists to help the Indiana Fever to a 70-66 victory over the New York Liberty on Saturday.Natasha Howard scored 12 points with seven rebounds and Marissa Coleman added 11 points and five boards for the Fever, who have won their past three after opening the season 0-3.
Tina Charles posted 22 points and 14 rebounds and Anna Cruz scored 10 points for the Liberty, who have lost their past two.
Indiana used a 13-0 run late in the first half to take a 39-36 lead into the break, and the game stayed close in the third, with January putting in a layup with under two minutes to play to give the Fever a 56-54 lead after three quarters.
In the final minute of the fourth with the score tied, Karima Christmas hit a pair of free throws with 28.2 seconds to play for the lead, and after Cappie Pondexter missed a shot at the other end, Coleman sealed the win with two from the line and 7.8 seconds showing.
