Adams, Stars down Sky
Aug 18, 2014 - 3:09 AM Rosemont, IL (SportsNetwork.com) - Danielle Adams had 18 points and 11 rebounds as the San Antonio Stars defeated the Chicago Sky, 84-72, on Sunday night in the season finale for both teams.Jia Perkins added 13 points off the bench, while Shenise Johnson posted 12 points, eight rebounds and eight assists for the Stars, who locked up the No. 3 seed in the West. San Antonio (16-18) will face defending-champion Minnesota in the first round of the playoffs.
Courtney Clements tallied 17 points to lead Chicago (15-19), which finished fourth in the East and will square off with top-seeded Atlanta in the first round.
The Stars took a commanding 51-35 lead into the break after outscoring the Sky 29-14 in the second and cruised to the easy win in the second half.
San Antonio shot 48.6 percent (36-of-74) from the field and held a 40-29 rebounding advantage.
