Dream down Sparks behind strong second half
Aug 17, 2011 - 4:51 AM Los Angeles, CA (Sports Network) - Angel McCoughtry scored a game-high 23 points and dished out five assists to lead the Atlanta Dream to an 84-79 victory over the Los Angeles Sparks at Staples Center.Erika de Souza dropped 18 points on 9-of-15 shooting and pulled down 13 rebounds while Lindsey Harding netted 12 points and had five assists for the Dream, winners in four of their last five games.
DeLisha Milton-Jones poured in 19 points while Candice Parker scored 15 and grabbed 10 rebounds for the Sparks, who fell to 9-14 on the season.
Los Angeles held a 39-37 halftime lead, but were outscored in each of the final two quarters.
The Sparks turned the ball over 21 times, which led to 20 Atlanta points.
