Liberty beat Fever in possible playoff preview
Sep 10, 2011 - 1:34 AM Newark, NJ (Sports Network) - Essence Carson had 18 points off the bench, Kia Vaughn scored 15 with nine rebounds and the New York Liberty posted an 83-75 victory over the Indiana Fever.Nicole Powell contributed 13 points for New York, which moved into a tie with the Atlanta Dream for third place in the Eastern Conference. Both playoff- bound clubs close out the regular season on Sunday. The Liberty visit Connecticut, while Atlanta travels to Indiana.
Katie Douglas scored 17 points and Shannon Bobbitt added 16 with seven assists for the Fever, who already have clinched the top seed in the East.
