Storm beat Mystics for first win
May 25, 2014 - 1:31 AM Washington, DC (SportsNetwork.com) - Sue Bird and Camille Little had 16 and 15 points, respectively, as the Seattle Storm picked up their first win of the season with a 73-65 win over the Washington Mystics on Saturday.Seattle forward Crystal Langhorne tallied six points and 14 rebounds against her former team. The Storm acquired Langhorne from Washington on draft day. She spent her first six seasons with the Mystics.
Emma Meesseman and Kara Lawson ended with 12 and 11 points, respectively, for the Mystics, who fell to 1-2 on the young season. Ivory Latta added 10 points.
Trailing 64-53 with 4:53 to play, Washington scored seven straight points to make things interesting. But Bird responded with a 3-pointer to give the Storm a 67-60 edge with 1:30 left.
Tanisha Wright added a layup and Seattle went 4-of-4 from the foul line down the stretch to improve its record to 1-3.
