Ogwumike, Sun down Dream
Jun 1, 2014 - 9:43 PM Uncasville, CT (SportsNetwork.com) - Chiney Ogwumike tallied 18 points and 10 rebounds led the Connecticut Sun to an 85-76 victory over the Atlanta Dream on Sunday.Allison Hightower had 13 points and six rebounds while Renee Montgomery scored 18 off the bench for the Sun, who halted a two-game skid.
Tiffany Hayes led Atlanta scorers with 17 points. Erika de Souza and Sancho Lyttle contributed 15 and 10 points, respectively, for the Dream, who have lost three of their last four.
Hightower ignited a 13-2 burst with a trey to give the Sun a 28-18 lead early in the second. Ogwumike's running jumper with 3.2 seconds left gave the Sun a 45-34 advantage heading into the break.
Atlanta, which was outscored 23-18 in the third, made a late 11-point push in the fourth, but ran out of time for the comeback.
