Dream crush Liberty for sixth straight win
Jun 21, 2014 - 1:47 AM Atlanta, GA (SportsNetwork.com) - Angel McCoughtry tallied 18 points and six assists to lead the Atlanta Dream to a sixth consecutive victory, an 85-64 rout over the New York Liberty Friday at Philips Arena.Tiffany Hayes added 16 points and Shoni Schimmel finished with 14 in a game the Dream were in front virtually the entire way.
Atlanta began to gain some separation early in the second quarter, with Hayes hitting a 3-pointer to begin a 13-3 run that put the Dream up 34-22 near the midway mark of the period. Atlanta carried a comfortable 49-35 advantage into halftime behind 12 points from McCoughtry and 10 from Aneika Henry.
The Liberty never got the deficit into single digits during the second half en route to their fifth straight loss, with the Dream building a lead as large as 23 points late in the contest.
Alex Montgomery paced New York with 11 points and DeLisha Milton-Jones scored 10 in defeat.
