Balanced attack leads Atlanta over Washington
Jul 6, 2014 - 1:29 AM Atlanta, GA (SportsNetwork.com) - Sancho Lyttle led five players in double figures with 18 points, as Atlanta posted an 86-73 win over Washington on Saturday night.Angel McCoughtry and Tiffany Hayes clocked in with 16 points each for the Dream (12-5). Erika de Souza tallied 12 with nine rebounds and Shoni Schimmel added 11 off the bench.
Emma Meesseman shot 8-of-11 from the field and totaled 18 points for the Mystics (7-12). Ivory Latta had 12 points with five assists and Kara Lawson provided 10 in a losing effort.
Trailing 57-56 with 3:08 left in the third, Aneika Henry's bucket put the Dream ahead to stay and kicked off a quarter-ending 11-1 run.
Atlanta kept pressing in the fourth, eventually widening its lead to 80-67 on a Lyttle layup with 2:31 to play before cruising to the buzzer.
