Mercury edge Sky to extend streak
Jul 12, 2014 - 3:01 AM Rosemont, IL (SportsNetwork.com) - Diana Taurasi's 19 points led five Phoenix starters in double figures as the Mercury beat the Chicago Sky, 72-66, to extend their franchise-best winning streak to nine games.DeWanna Bonner had 13 points, and Candice Dupree and Brittney Griner each contributed a double-double for the Mercury. Dupree matched Griner with 11 points and grabbed 11 rebounds. Griner finished with 10 boards and six blocks.
Sylvia Fowles supplied 23 points and 11 rebounds for Chicago, which has dropped four straight games. Jamierra Faulkner had 13 points and eight assists in defeat.
