Minnesota is the No. 2 seed in the West and will host either Los Angeles or San Antonio in the first round of the playoffs on Thursday.
Odyssey Sims led all scorers with 31 points, but Tulsa (12-22) dropped its third straight game to end the season.
The Shock went into the break ahead 43-37 due in large part to Sims's 21 first-half points. Augustus knocked down a jumper with two seconds left in the third to put Minnesota ahead 59-58 going into the last period.
A basket by Janel McCarville started Minnesota's run in the fourth. After Sims hit a 3-pointer just seconds into the final quarter, Tulsa didn't score again until there was only a little more than a minute left in the game.
