PIT 2, SFG 3The Pittsburgh Pirates defeated the San Francisco Giants 4-3 in extra innings at Oracle Park on April 28, 2024. Martín Pérez went 6 innings with 4k's only letting up one run. He was relieved by Colin Holderman, Josh Flemming, and Hunter Stratton who all went scoreless. Rowdy Tellez got the Pirates on the board in the 7th inning with a sac fly to bring home Connor Joe which tied the game at 1. The Buc's went to extra innings and Bryan Reynolds hit a 2-run home run to get the 3-1 lead in the 10th. Immediately following, Ke'Bryan Hayes hit a solo home run making the score 4-1. David Bednar closed out the game to get the save and the Pirates won 4-3 with Hunter Stratton getting his first career win.
