White Sox vs. Cardinals full game highlights from 5/5/24
CWS 5, STL 1LHP Garrett Crochet started for the White Sox, who clinched their first road series win of 2024. He became the first White Sox to record 50-plus strikeouts over his first eight career starts. Crochet tossed 6.0 IP with 3 hits, 1 run and 6 strikeouts, and recorded his 2nd win of the season. Steven Wilson, Jordan Leasure and John Brebbia all came in for relief. The pitching staff struck out 11 with 0 walks. The Good Guys got on the board in the 2nd inning with a sac fly from Bryan Ramos to center fielder Dylan Carlson, scoring Paul DeJong. It was Ramos’ first career MLB RBI. The Cardinals tied the score in the 4th as Willson Contreras homered on a line drive to center field. In the top of the 7th, Eloy Jiménez regained the lead with a solo home run, his 4th of the 2024 season! Paul DeJong followed with an RBI double on a line drive to left fielder Brendan Donovan, bringing home Gavin Sheets. Braden Shewmake’s RBI single drove in Paul DeJong.
