Gardner-Webb vs. Clemson: The Clemson Tigers women's basketball team got off to a great start to their season with the 81-54 victory over Gardner-Webb. Ruby Whitehorn scored 17 points and grabbed 9 rebounds to lead the team in both scoring and rebounding in her first game as a Tiger. Clemson jumped on Gardner Webb early with a 15-0 run in the first quarter, and never looked back. They played relentless defense, holding the Runnin' Bulldogs to 19-69 shooting from the floor in the win.
GWEBB 54, CLEM 81North Carolina Women's Basketball kicked off their season at home against Gardner-Webb and sophomore Jamie Cherry was impressive, ending the game with 25 points and a clutch 3-pointer in the last 15 seconds. Cherry and the Heels lost a heart breaker on a buzzer-beater, as the Runnin' Bulldogs took the game 66-65.
