MSH 14, OSU 49Quarterback Kyron Drones helped steer Virginia Tech to a win over Marshall with a solid second half. Drones finished the game completing 14 of 21 passes for 130 yards and a touchdown. He also had 19 rushing yards and another touchdown.
MSH 14, VT 31The Hokies held off the Thundering Herd and got their first win of the season, 31-14. After only scoring 10 points on 137 total yards in the first half, Virginia Tech scored 14 points and put up 151 points in the third quarter. Jaylin Lane ran back a punt for 43 yards for the Hokies' first score. Running back Bhayshul Tuten ran for 120 yards and a touchdown on 22 carries. Quarterback Kyron Drones completed 14 of 21 passes for 130 yards and a touchdown; he also had a rushing touchdown.
MSH 14, VT 31Virginia Tech's offense struggled at times against Marshall, but running back Bhayshul Tuten proved to be extremely dependable. 11 of his 22 carries came in the third quarter where the Hokies separated from the Thundering Herd. Tuten finished the game with 22 carries for 120 yards and a touchdown.
MSH 14, VT 31The final play of the first quarter was the biggest play of the game, with Virginia Tech's Jaylin Lane returning the Marshall punt 58 yards to the end zone for the first score of the game.
MSH 14, VT 31Marshall was getting its offense in a rhythm against Virginia Tech in the third quarter until Mansoor Delane picked off a pass along the sideline. The ball was tipped by a teammate, but Delane was able to adjust to make the catch while staying in bounds. The pick would set up a Hokie touchdown and is the CPI Security: Securing The Win moment of the game.

UTSA 35, MSH 17Old Dominion, Marshall and Southern Miss all officially announced they will leave C-USA for the Sun Belt in June of this year.View the original article to see embedded media.Old Dominion, Marshall and Southern Miss all announced they plan on ending their alliance with Conference USA in June 2022, in anticipation of a move to the Sun Belt Conference.Sports Illustrated's Ross Dellenger reports that this decision comes as C-USA included all three schools as part of their official 2022 football schedule that was released earlier this afternoon.Meanwhile, Dellenger explained that the Sun Belt also created schedules including those schools, meaning each of the three football programs were set to receive two different schedules for the fall.In a statement, Old Dominion mentioned how frustrated it was with C-USA’s scheduling process:“The University first advised the Conference in early December 2021 of the University's plans to terminate its membership in June 2022.
