WF 43, MSST 29Wake Forest vs. Mississippi State: The Demon Deacons defeated the Bulldogs, 43-29, in the Duke's Mayo Bowl. After giving up a field goal on the game's opening drive, Koredell Bartley ran back the ensuing kickoff for a 100-yard touchdown, and Wake Forest led the rest of the game. The Demon Deacons had 451 yards of total offense. Quarterback Robby Ashford completed 20 of 33 passes for 303 yards and three touchdowns. Ashford also ran the ball 14 times for 50 yards and two touchdowns. Running back Ty Clark ran the ball 17 times for 91 yards while also catching three passes for 73 yards and a touchdown. Mississippi State freshman quarterback Kamario Taylor threw for 241 yards and a touchdown on 13 for 22 passing, while also rushing for 63 yards and a touchdown on 18 carries.
