Following a late TD by the Huskies that gave them the 3-point lead, Darian Mensah and the Blue Devils were threatening to force overtime when Mensah was sacked and fumbled, allowing UConn to secure the win. Mensah finished the game with 222 yards on 22-31 passing with 3 touchdowns and 2 interceptions in the loss. Nate Sheppard was a workhorse for Duke, carrying the ball 16 times for 100 yards and 2 touchdowns for Manny Diaz's team.
