Celtic beat Dundee United 1-0 in Scottish league

Feb 21, 2010 - 12:31 AM GLASGOW, Scotland (AP) - Ireland captain Robbie Keane scored his first goal at Celtic Park on Saturday, giving the hosts a 1-0 win over Dundee United in the Scottish Premier League.

Keane, on loan from Tottenham, beat the offside trap in the 20th minute and was all alone to slot home.

Celtic is second in the standings, seven points behind Rangers, which had its game at St. Johnstone postponed due to a partially frozen field.

Also Saturday, Falkirk beat Aberdeen 3-1, Kilmarnock and St. Mirren drew 1-1 and Motherwell downed Hibernian 1-0.

Aberdeen took an early 1-0 lead when Charlie Mulgrew scored in the fifth minute, but Falkirk found the net twice before halftime through Pedro Moutinho and Darren Barr. Falkirk's Enoch Showumni then struck in the 70th minute.

Kilmarnock striker Chris Maguire scored first but Billy Mehmet's late goal in the 82nd minute leveled for St. Mirren.

Motherwell striker Jamie Murphy score in the 82nd to beat Hibernian.
