AFL player Chandler Williams passes away at age 27
Jan 6, 2013 - 5:30 PM Chicago, IL (Sports Network) - Wide receiver Chandler Williams, most recently affiliated with the Tampa Bay Storm of the Arena Football League, has died. He was 27.The AFL said in a release Sunday that Williams "passed away while participating in a local independent flag football tournament in South Florida." The cause of death was not revealed.
A seventh-round draft pick of the Minnesota Vikings in 2007, Williams caught 83 passes for 996 yards and 17 touchdowns while leading the AFL with a 23-yard kickoff return average for the Storm last season.
