Viloria TKOs Romero to keep WBO belt

May 13, 2012 - 4:55 AM Pasig City, Philippines (Sports Network) - Brian Viloria defended his WBO flyweight title Sunday with a ninth-round technical knockout of Omar Romero in their scheduled 12-round bout.

Viloria (31-3) won his second title defense since taking the belt from Julio Cesar Miranda last July. He also beat Giovani Segura in December.

Romero (31-5-2) suffered his second loss in three fights.

It was the third time the boxers fought. Romero won a unanimous decision over Viloria in the first meeting in August 2006 but failed a post-fight drug test three months later after a draw.
