Soto outlasts Lorenzo, claims unanimous decision

Dec 21, 2008 - 6:20 AM COZUMEL, Mexico (Ticker) -- Humberto Soto exacted some revenge on Saturday.

The WBC super featherweight champion avenged his controversial disqualification defeat to Francisco Lorenzo in June by recording a 12-round unanimous decision in a rematch at Parque Andres Quintana Roo.

Soto (46-7-2, 29 KOs) was declared the winner after claiming all three of the judges' cards. The 27-year-old Soto defeated his 37-year-old adversary by scores of 118-108, 117-109, 117-09.

On June 28, Lorenzo (33-5, 14 KOs) claimed a controversial victory after Soto was disqualified in the fourth round.
