Lions ink WR Iannuzzi to extension
Mar 12, 2013 - 10:56 PM Vancouver, BC (Sports Network) - The British Columbia Lions inked wideout Marco Iannuzzi to a contract extension on Tuesday."Marco has shown steady improvement in the past two years and we expect him to be an important piece of our offense in the future," said Lions general manager Wally Buono.
The Harvard product and Calgary native posted career highs of 30 receptions, 353 yards and five touchdowns in 2012, his sophomore campaign. In two CFL seasons, the 25-year-old has recorded 38 catches for 418 yards and five scores.
"Marco is gifted receiver who works extremely hard," said Lions head coach Mike Benevides. "He's part of a solid core of young receivers that we have a lot of confidence in and I'm very pleased to have him with us moving forward."
