Roughriders re-sign QB Durant
Jan 5, 2009 - 7:57 PM REGINA, Saskatchewan (Ticker) -- The Saskatchewan Roughriders accomplished a major offseason goal Monday, re-signing quarterback Darian Durant.Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Durant won all four of his starts last season, completing 57-of-87 passes for 817 yards and six touchdowns. He threw for 1,122 yards and seven touchdowns overall last season, his third with the green and white.
"Re-signing Darian was, obviously, one of our offseason priorities," general manager Eric Tillman said. "We are thrilled to have him back in green and white, and we look forward to watching him compete for the starting position."
Durant's competition at quarterback likely will come from Michael Bishop.
