Eskimos release DB Younger, OL Bakker
Jan 7, 2009 - 6:01 PM EDMONTON, Alberta (Ticker) -- The Edmonton Eskimos parted ways with a pair of players Wednesday, releasing defensive back Jordan Younger and offensive lineman Tim Bakker.Acquired from the Toronto Argonauts on February 16, Younger recorded 52 tackles in 18 games - including two playoff contests - with the Eskimos last season.
Drafted third overall in 2000, Bakker spent six of his nine campaigns in the league with Edmonton while also playing for the B.C. Lions and Hamilton Tiger-Cats. In 2008, he dressed for 18 regular-season games and two postseason contests.
