EDMONTON, Alberta (Ticker) -- The Edmonton Eskimos on Thursday re-signed slotback Fred Stamps to a two-year contract extension.
Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Despite missing the last four regular-season contests, Stamps reeled in 50 receptions for 751 yards and six touchdowns last season.
"Returning to the Eskimos for the next two years is very exciting for me," Stamps said. "I look forward to being a part of this receiving corps and to bringing the Grey Cup back to Edmonton."
"Fred has emerged as a bonafide CFL receiver capable of tremendous things," Edmonton general manager Danny Maciocia said. "We have only begun to see what he is able to do."
Also on Thursday, the Eskimos released linebacker Agustin Barrenechea.
Barrenechea recorded a team-high 68 tackles for the Eskimos last season.
