British Columbia DB Banks agrees to extension

Feb 23, 2009 - 7:26 PM VANCOUVER, British Columbia (Ticker) -- British Columbia Lions defensive back Korey Banks on Monday agreed to terms on a contract extension through the 2011 season.

Banks joined the Lions in 2006 as part of the Ottawa Renegades' dispersal draft. Now entering his sixth pro season, he has recorded 141 tackles and 17 interceptions in his three seasons with BC.

Banks was a West Division All-Star in each of the last three seasons and earned a spot on the CFL All-Star squad in 2007.

"Korey is another key part of our consistency on defense and a player we look to for big plays," Lions general manager and coach Wally Buono said.
