Estudiantes beats Tigre 3-1
Nov 21, 2009 - 3:54 AM BUENOS AIRES, Argentina(AP) -- Mauro Boselli's two goals and another from German Re lifted Estudiantes to a 3-1 win over last-place Tigre on Friday in Argentina's Apertura tournament.The victory lifted Estudiantes to third on 29 points, three fewer than joint leaders Banfield and Newell's. Banfield plays on Saturday and Newell's on Sunday.
In Friday's other match, Lanus defeated high-flying Colon 3-0 through goals by Cristian Menendez, Sebastian Blanco and Santiago Salcedo. Colon would have gone third with a win.
Estudiantes is preparing for the World Club Championship next month in Dubai, having won the Copa Libertadores.
In remaining games in this round, on Saturday it's: Huracan vs. San Lorenzo, Atletico Tucuman vs. Chacarita, Independiente vs. Banfield.
On Sunday it's: Newell's vs. Rosario Central, Boca Juniors vs. Gimnasia, Godoy Cruz vs. River Plate.
