Alouettes advance to Grey Cup

Nov 23, 2009 - 12:43 AM MONTREAL(AP) -- Anthony Calvillo tied a CFL playoff record with five touchdown passes and the Montreal Alouettes routed the British Columbia Lions 56-18 on Sunday to advance to the Grey Cup for the seventh time in 10 years.

Calvillo was 19 of 28 for 312 yards for Montreal in the East Division final. The Alouettes have one only one title in their six Grey Cup appearances in the decade - in 2002. Last year, Montreal lost to Calgary in the championship game.

Montreal will face Saskatchewan - a 27-17 winner over Calgary in the West final - in the Grey Cup in Calgary next Sunday night.

Jamel Richardson and Brian Bratton each caught two scoring passes, Kerry Watkins had one, Richardson added another score on a blocked punt return, and John Bowman had another TD with a 41-yard interception return off backup Travis Lulay's pass.

Ryan Grice-Mullen had a record 106-yard punt return for a TD for the Lions.
