Ammann wins ski jumping overall title
Mar 12, 2010 - 7:17 PM LILLEHAMMER, Norway(AP) -- Olympic champion Simon Ammann of Switzerland has won the ski jumping World Cup overall title.Ammann needed only 18 points coming into Friday's event to clinch his first overall title and earned 274.5 points with jumps of 135 and 133.5 meters.
He leads defending champion Gregor Schlierenzauer of Austria by 203 points going into Sunday's final World Cup event in Oslo. Thomas Morgenstern of Austria is third in the standings.
Ammann swept both individual events at the Vancouver Olympics.
Schlierenzauer finished second, and Poland's Adam Malysz was third in Friday's event.
