Clubs fined, players warned for missing drug tests

Mar 21, 2010 - 12:19 PM LONDON(AP) -- Almost 100 players in English soccer have missed out-of-competition drug tests and two lower-tier clubs have been fined by the Football Association for failing to accurately report their whereabouts.

The Sunday Times published figures in an FA report that 96 players missed one test while two missed two. Queens Park Rangers was fined $9,000 and Bradford $1,500 for not supplying accurate details of players' schedules.

The report said 13 more clubs were close to being fined after receiving two warnings about not revealing required information.

Players who miss three tests can be suspended for up to a year.
