Wolstenholme wins European Senior Tour opener
May 13, 2012 - 5:25 PM Mallorca, Spain (Sports Network) - Gary Wolstenholme closed with a two-under 69 on Sunday to win the Mallorca Open Senior.Wolstenholme finished at eight-under-par 205. This was the season-opener for the European Senior Tour and it was Wolstenholme's second victory on that circuit.
The 51-year-old Englishman opened with a birdie on the first. He dropped shots at the seventh and 14th, but carded three birdies between the ninth and 13th. Wolstenholme parred the final four holes to hang on for the win.
Chris Williams fired a four-under 67 at Pula Golf Club to end in second place at minus-six. He ended alongside Mike Harwood (70) and Paul Wesselingh (71).
