Kuchar to 5th in world rankings
May 14, 2012 - 4:08 PM Philadelphia, PA (Sports Network) - Matt Kuchar's victory Sunday at The Players Championship moved him up 11 to fifth in this week's world golf rankings.Rory McIlroy, despite a missed cut at the TPC Sawgrass, remained in first, followed by Luke Donald, Lee Westwood, Masters champion Bubba Watson and Kuchar.
Hunter Mahan slipped one to sixth, and Tiger Woods stayed at No. 7. Steve Stricker sank two to eighth and Martin Kaymer fell one to ninth. Phil Mickelson once again rounded out the top 10.
Webb Simpson also dropped two to 11th. Justin Rose, Adam Scott, Louis Oosthuizen and Charl Schwartzel each dipped one to complete the top 15.
Jason Day fell a rung to No. 16. Dustin Johnson kept his place from last week with Rickie Fowler, who finished second at The Players Championship after his victory at Quail Hollow, shot up six to 18th.
Bill Haas was once again 19th and former U.S. Open champion Graeme McDowell slipped two to 20th.
No one has shouted yet.
